As a(n) OEM / Renewables Sales Representative, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
OEM/ Renewable Sales Representative will be responsible for growing sales in assigned territory for the OEM/ Specialty division of the Electrical Markets Division. This person will be working closely with key distributor partners. Must live within territory.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Establishment and Achievement of Objectives: Effectively manages assigned territory and accounts. Understands sales goals and establishes self-directed sales coverage with manager's assistance. Develop tactics and coordinates efforts to fulfill quarterly and annual objectives. Recommends adjustments and reassessments to the business plan and establishes new objectives. Achieves annual sales targets and objectives.
Sales and Marketing: Utilizes the sales process to achieve sales results. Applies understanding of 3M’s brand and innovation story, individual value propositions, and knowledge of applications to maximize revenue for 3M for assigned product portfolios. Demonstrates knowledge and use of social selling tools to create connections with Industry and Customers. Demonstrates and trains channel customers and staff on product and applications. Operationalizes the use of social selling tools to gain credibility with the industry. Represents business unit products and services to customers and prospects. Provides appropriate sales support services to distributors, with additional support as required from internal resources. Proactively reports all new or unusual pertinent market conditions, competitive activities, and product performance information to supervisor. Interacts with business groups and/or business management to identify target audiences and provide input to a communications plan that delivers the brand promise to target audiences and builds customer loyalty.
Coordination and Planning: Plans and manage time and resources for effective coverage of territory, communications, and other responsibilities. Observes all budget guidelines.
Administration: Maintains and communicates account and prospect information, maintains company resources, and sales support materials.
Leadership: Exhibits leadership with accounts, prospects and peers. Accepts direction and assumes leadership as appropriate. Asserts ideas and persuades others to action, builds collaboration among team members to address relevant customer/industry issues. Provides direction on priorities and develops a shared vision that stimulates needed changes plus clarifies roles and responsibilities. Position may occasionally be involved with training and mentoring other sales representatives, usually as a co-facilitating role.
Company Vehicle
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Three (3) years of sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Current, valid Driver’s License.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Master's degree in from an accredited institution
Five (5) years of electrical experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Strong computer skills, Database management: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Salesforce.com
Work location:
Remote Based – MN
Travel: May include up to 40% domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
