Job summary

Mercor is seeking PDF annotation and transcription experts fluent in Odia for remote contract work. You will annotate, bound, and transcribe Odia PDFs with precise character-level accuracy, and record page metadata.

You will collaborate with a second Odia expert to review completed tasks, ensuring high quality outputs. Ideal candidates are native Odia speakers with experience in annotation, transcription, localization, proofreading, journalism, or regional-language data review.

Qualifications

• Native Odia speaker with script mastery.
• Experience in annotation, transcription, or localization.
• Exact character-level accuracy required.
• Systematic taxonomy application across pages.
• Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column documents.

Responsibilities

• Source Odia PDFs and record the source.
• Annotate and bound each region with type and reading-order index.
• Link regions to their parent components (e.g., figure, table).
• Transcribe faithfully in Odia script; flag illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, type, source, dimensions, tables, formulas, handwriting.
• Review colleague work as part of a second Odia expert review.
