Fiber Optics Termination and Testing Odessa/Midland , Texas Contract To Hire Sep 4, 2026

Location: Odessa / Midland, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
Project Duration: Approximately 18 Months
Openings: 4
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Day Shift | Typically 6:00/7:00 AM–2:00/3:00 PM
Conversion Eligibility: Approximately 1,040 hours

Position Overview

Tek One Solutions is seeking Level I and Level II Data Center Fiber Technicians for a long-term project in the Odessa / Midland, Texas area.

This role is focused specifically on pulling and routing pre-terminated fiber optic cabling within a data center environment. Technicians will work with various fiber counts, including potential ribbon fiber, while maintaining proper routing, organization, and cable-handling standards.

This is a strong opportunity for technicians looking to gain or expand experience in large-scale data center fiber infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Pull and route pre-terminated fiber optic cabling
  • Support installation of various fiber counts
  • Handle and route potential ribbon fiber
  • Follow designated cable pathways and project drawings
  • Maintain proper bend radius and cable-handling practices
  • Dress and organize fiber neatly throughout the installation
  • Identify and report damaged or compromised cabling
  • Maintain clean, professional workmanship
  • Follow all data center safety, security, and site-access requirements
  • Work efficiently as part of a field installation team
Level I Qualifications
  • Previous low-voltage, structured cabling, or data center experience preferred
  • Familiarity with fiber optic cabling is a plus
  • Ability to pull and route cable safely and cleanly
  • Strong reliability and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in an active data center environment
Level II Qualifications
  • Experience pulling and routing fiber in commercial or data center environments
  • Comfortable working with higher-count fiber
  • Ribbon fiber experience is a plus
  • Ability to work more independently and follow detailed installation requirements
Requirements
  • OSHA 10 required
  • OSHA 30 accepted
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to pass a 5-panel drug screening
  • Required PPE, including:
    • Type II hard hat with chin strap
    • Standard jobsite PPE
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to complete site-specific orientation prior to starting
