Qualifications

• Active Peer Counselor license required.
• First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Legible handwriting and ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read and comprehend agency/client charts.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record to use agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in articulating enrolled individual's personal goals and barriers for recovery.
• Help determine objectives to reach recovery goals.
• Use interventions to aid recovery goals and teach coping skills.
• Demonstrate and coach self-help strategies and group self-management.
• Provide housing assistance and support when requested.
• Model recovery and coping techniques from personal recovery experience.
• Document daily interactions and client progress in records.
• Attend trainings, seminars, and staff meetings.
• Support drop-in/resource center operations and staffing.
