Job summary

Leidos LLC is seeking an IT Specialist for the Navy SMIT OCONUS program in Diego Garcia. The role focuses on monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure to support Navy vessels, with responsibilities spanning daily operations, vulnerability checks, and incident reporting.

The candidate will work in a remote, austere environment and may be required to stay in place for extended periods. Requires U.S. citizenship, active Secret clearance, and IAT II + Network certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree in a relevant field with 2–4 years of experience, or a Master's with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance are required.
• IAT II level certification (e.g., Security+) and a Network certification (CCNA/Network+).
• Willing to provide On-Site/On-call support, 24/7/365 availability.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day Network Operations responsibilities and monitoring.
• Advise on distributed network computing issues and ensure reliable systems.
• Support cyber team using defense-in-depth principles and assist artifact collection for incidents.
• Develop and update SOPs for connect/disconnect, fiber testing, and repair.
• Operate tools and equipment to repair and maintain UCAs and fiber cables.
• Track vessel arrivals/departures and respond to service targets.
• Maintain inventory, maintenance, and repair of UCA cables.
