Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of heavy construction safety experience.
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Safety Technician (CHST).

Job Summary

Acrisure is seeking an experienced OCIP Safety Manager to oversee construction site safety across active projects operating under an Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP). This full‑time position is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, enforcing project safety standards, and promoting a proactive safety culture across multiple construction sites.

The OCIP Safety Manager serves as the primary on‑site safety resource, partnering with contractors, project teams, and insurance stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, conduct safety inspections, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with all applicable safety requirements. The role requires extensive experience in heavy construction environments and the ability to build strong working relationships while maintaining the highest standards of workplace safety.

The ideal candidate brings significant heavy construction safety experience, thrives in dynamic jobsite environments, and is confident leading safety initiatives across multiple active projects while traveling between construction locations as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee construction site safety activities across multiple active projects operating under an OCIP program
  • Travel between assigned construction sites to conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, OCIP requirements, and project‑specific safety standards
  • Identify safety hazards and partner with contractors to implement timely corrective actions
  • Conduct daily safety reviews of work in progress and verify compliance with established safety procedures
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports, inspection findings, and compliance documentation
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and recordable injuries while supporting corrective action and incident prevention efforts
  • Participate in project meetings and provide safety guidance, recommendations, and compliance updates
  • Support OSHA inspections and regulatory interactions as required
  • Verify completion of required safety training, including new hire orientation and ongoing tailgate meetings
  • Lead safety stand‑downs and reinforce safe work practices following incidents or significant safety events
  • Promote continuous improvement through coaching, education, and proactive risk management initiatives
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
  • 5+ years of heavy construction safety experience
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Safety Technician (CHST) certification
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience supporting or managing Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP)
  • Experience conducting construction site inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations
  • Ability to travel regularly between active construction project sites
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with contractors, project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to manage multiple active construction projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting documentation
Education and Licenses
  • OSHA 30‑Hour Construction certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field
  • Additional professional safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, or related designations
Pay Details

The base compensation range for this position is $110,000 – $125,000. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
