Job summary

LightFeather is seeking an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support the U.S. Department of State in designing, implementing, and operating secure OCI environments. This hybrid role involves four onsite days per week in Washington, D.C. and one remote day.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years as a Cloud Engineer with OCI experience and a Secret clearance, with eligibility for Top Secret. You will optimize costs, ensure compliance, and document architectures across teams.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, including at least two years with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of OCI compute, storage, IAM, networking, and database services.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform and Ansible) and security/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage OCI services (compute, networking, storage, database).
• Configure VCNs, subnets, gateways, and load balancers for mission-critical apps.
• Implement cloud security per federal frameworks (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Develop IaC scripts using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Monitor performance, optimize costs, ensure high availability across OCI.
• Troubleshoot OCI issues and provide escalation as needed.
• Collaborate with security, development, and operations on migrations and modernization.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architectures and configurations.
