Job summary

The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club is hiring a part-time host/hostess to supervise dining room operations and ensure a warm, efficient guest experience. You will greet guests, manage reservations, coordinate staff assignments, and support service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, 1–3 months related experience acceptable.
• Previous restaurant experience preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain San Diego County Food Handlers and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage dining room operations to ensure fast, courteous service.
• Greet guests, escort to tables, and present menus.
• Answer calls, take reservations, and manage messages.
• Coordinate staff workstations and ensure cleanliness and organization of dining area.
• Handle payments and close out receipts at shift end.
• Open/close dining room procedures and assist in training employees.
