ExFreight, a market-leading global digital freight forwarder and transportation solutions provider, is seeking an Ocean LCL Operations Coordinator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a background in international freight forwarding, with experience coordinating Less-than-Container Load (LCL) ocean shipments, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
This is an office-based position at our company headquarters in Lake Worth, FL.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Ocean LCL import shipments from booking through final delivery.
- Ensure shipments booked by customers through our online shipping platform are entered and processed correctly, including all required shipping and customs documentation.
- Make LCL bookings with ocean carriers, co-loaders, and other service providers and coordinate timely pickups with truckers and shippers.
- Coordinate cargo delivery to and from CFS facilities and monitor receiving, consolidation, sailing, arrival, deconsolidation, and final delivery.
- Prepare and process ocean shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping instructions, and other required documents.
- Monitor shipments throughout the transportation process and proactively provide customers with shipment status updates.
- Work directly with customers, carriers, truckers, CFS facilities, overseas agents, and other service providers to resolve operational issues and prevent unnecessary delays.
- Follow up on shipments to confirm cargo moves according to the booked routing and expected transit time.
- Monitor vessel schedules, transshipments, CFS availability, and other milestones that may impact shipment delivery.
- Review freight rates, carrier charges, CFS charges, trucking costs, and other shipment expenses for accuracy prior to invoicing customers.
- Identify and address discrepancies involving rates, documentation, shipment status, or vendor invoices.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and updates within ExFreight's transportation management system.
- Build strong customer relationships through professional communication, responsiveness, and proactive shipment management.
- Work closely with colleagues and management to ensure operational efficiency and meet or exceed customer expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of freight forwarding experience, preferably involving Ocean LCL operations.
- Experience with ocean imports and/or exports, CFS operations, ocean carriers, co-loaders, and international shipping documentation preferred.
- Strong understanding of international freight forwarding processes and shipment terminology.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work analytically and proactively while taking accountability for personal performance.
