Job summary

CEVA Logistics, operating under CMA CGM Group, seeks an Ocean LCL Gateway Specialist for our Des Plaines, IL facility. The role is on-site with standard hours and a focus on gateway operations for LCL cargo, ensuring end-to-end shipment management and strong collaboration with internal teams and partners.

Qualifications

• Experience with ocean freight gateway operations, particularly LCL shipments.
• Proficiency with Cargowise, or similar logistics/forwarding management software.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and basic formulas.
• Strong teamwork and communication across departments and with external partners.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules and operational demands.
• Understanding of ocean freight documentation and customs clearance processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage LCL ocean freight gateway processes for timely and accurate shipments.
• Coordinate communications between shipping lines, warehouses, customs brokers, and internal teams.
• Use Cargowise for shipment tracking, documentation, and workflow management to keep precise records.
• Perform data analysis and reporting in Excel to support operational decisions.
• Coordinate and resolve shipment exceptions maintaining high customer service levels.
• Collaborate within a team to align goals and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and international shipping standards.
