Job summary

MSI, headquartered in Orange, California, seeks an Associate to support container dispatch by tracking inbound shipments and coordinating delivery to MSI distribution centers. You will contact shipping lines, trucking companies, U.S. customs, and receiving warehouses to resolve issues.

The role requires 3–5 years in international logistics of ocean imports, strong data analysis, and proficiency with MS Excel. Monday–Friday 9–6, plus occasional Saturday work, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in International Logistics of Ocean Import shipments.
• Ability to communicate with shipping lines, US Customs, ports, trucking companies and freight forwarders.
• Able to analyze data related to costs and offer better options.
• Knowledge of carrier contracts and surcharges (e.g., bunker, low sulfur).
• Clear communication with positive language; attention and accuracy under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Rate requests and update all shipping files.
• Troubleshoot freight/OBL related issues.
• Approve and process AP freight invoices.
• Maintain AP statements with shipping lines and freight forwarders.
• Assist with booking problems and changes of destination.
• Assist Senior Associates and Management with other duties.
