Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Ocean Imports Manager in Albany, MO to direct day-to-day ocean import operations and ensure regulatory compliance. You will lead a team of import professionals, coordinate with carriers and service providers, and optimize data entry in the TMS for timely shipments.

The role requires 3–5 years in ocean imports, strong communication skills, and knowledge of customs procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in logistics, transportation, or related field.
• Experience in ocean import operations, 3–5 years, including supervision.
• Knowledge of import regulations and customs procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management systems.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).
• CCS or CCB designation preferred.
• SAP or other ERP experience preferred.
• Knowledge of import regulations for other modes (air, land) preferred.
• Microsoft Office and TMS proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day ocean import operations.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations.
• Supervise ocean import freight forwarders/coordinators.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for timely shipments.
• Resolve issues related to customs, documentation, and delays.
• Coordinate with ocean carriers, trucking firms, and service providers.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry in the TMS.
• Provide guidance and training on import regulations and procedures.
• Prepare reports and metrics related to import operations.
