Job summary

The CSL Group is seeking an Ocean Import Customer Service specialist in E Rancho Dominguez, CA to join a fast-paced logistics team. You will coordinate ocean import shipments, act as the main contact for customers, and collaborate with overseas partners to move cargo efficiently.

Ideal candidates have 1 year in ocean import operations, strong communication skills, and familiarity with import docs and Incoterms. MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• 1 year of ocean import operations or international freight forwarding.
• Familiarity with import documentation, customs clearance processes and Incoterms.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer service.
• Proficiency with freight management systems and MS Office.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and port operations is a plus.
• Team-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipment status, documentation, and inquiries.
• Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, and freight partners to ensure timely cargo movement.
• Prepare, review, and process import documentation including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and customs entries.
• Track and trace inbound ocean freight shipments and proactively update customers.
• Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure smooth customs clearance and compliance.
• Resolve shipment issues, delays, and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
