GEODIS in Carson, CA is seeking an Ocean Import Account Representative to manage shipments, pricing, and carrier coordination. You will track shipments, negotiate rates, prepare invoices, and support customers with tracking and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in importation of goods.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Ocean/Maritime freight transportation.
• Knowledge of the listed systems and government requirements.

Responsibilities

• Handle shipments and ensure profitability.
• Establish task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments.
• Coordinate shipping details with origin agent.
• Track and trace shipments with carriers and inform customers of milestones.
• Negotiate pricing with Ocean/Agent/Ground Carrier/Steamship/Airlines.
• Provide instructions to carriers per shipping guidelines.
• Convert and verify shipment weight and volume.
• Calculate rates and pricing; analyze profit and loss.
• Maintain communication with customers, carriers and vendors.
• Coordinate pickups and invoice files.
• Assist customers with questions, tracking, and complaints.
• Process and coordinate cargo bookings with agents.
• Open files for invoicing in Cargo Factor.
