Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics is seeking a Freight Forwarder, Ocean Export to manage the import and export of goods by ocean. You will coordinate carrier bookings, customs processes, cargo tracking and customer communications to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires experience in ocean freight, strong organization and communication skills, and fluency in English. A background with logistics software and Microsoft Office is preferred, with full-time hours in the USA (Erlanger).

Qualifications

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in ocean import and export is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the importation of goods by ocean, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination.
• Manage the exportation of goods by ocean, including carrier booking and managing the movement of goods through various transportation channels.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Prepare, process, submit required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork.
• Track and monitor shipments and provide regular updates to customers on the status of their shipments.
• Manage relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
• Collaborate with other internal departments, such as logistics, finance, and operations, to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws.
