NRDC seeks an Attorney to join the Nature team in the Oceans Division for a limited term of 2.5 years. The attorney will support federal ocean-related litigation and regulatory advocacy, helping defend bedrock conservation laws while crafting policy reform agendas with NRDC and partner groups.

The role requires a JD, bar admission, and 4+ years of legal advocacy or litigation experience, with willingness to travel and collaborate across teams and coalitions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and bar admission or willingness to complete the requirements.
• 4+ years of legal advocacy experience, including direct litigation.

Responsabilités

• Represent NRDC on litigation matters in collaboration with attorneys.
• Conduct legal research, analysis and briefing.
• Engage in regulatory proceedings relating to ocean conservation.
• Help develop an ocean conservation policy reform agenda.
• Collaborate with Oceans Division staff on advocacy initiatives.
• Work in coalitions with other organizations on litigation matters and policy reform.
• Support NRDC’s advocacy in Congress and with administrative agencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
