Job summary

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in Miami, FL is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our therapy team. The role supports the Occupational Therapist by administering treatments and therapeutic modalities.

You will contribute to patient care, participate in infection control, safety programs, and performance improvement initiatives, and engage with a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • COTA certification required.
  • BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Associate degree in therapy-related field is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic modalities under supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Administer treatments and physical agents as directed by the OT.
  • Communicate and resolve problems; contribute to performance improvement and infection control programs.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsible for providing therapeutic modalities of treatment as supervised by the Occupational Therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the Occupational Therapist, after the Occupational Therapist has evaluated the patient. Communicates and assists in resolving problems. Demonstrates effective resource utilization, which is critical to operational stability within the organization. Participates in performance improvement and program growth. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (COTA) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Associate Degree
