Job summary

Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to support patients in improving motor functions and daily living tasks under supervision. You may treat those with cognitive impairment, psychosocial challenges, or physical disability and assist with caregiver education.

Requirements include an Associate's Degree from an accredited OTA program and NB-COT certification with BLS. A sign-on bonus of $500 is offered for external hires.

Scope of Work

Under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist, provides occupational therapy services to patients/clients to assist in improving basic motor functions, reasoning abilities, compensating for permanent loss of function by teaching patients/clients to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. May provide treatment to patients/clients with cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction and physical disability. Assists with patient/clients and caregiver education.

Standard Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree accredited therapy assistant program
• Therapy assistance experience Preferred
• Experience in neurological injury, TBI, and Spinal Cord injury (based on Spectrum Health entity) Preferred
• CRT-Occupational Therapy Assistant, Certified (COTA) - NB-COT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
• LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Home Care Business Lines
• Upon Hire required
