Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist for the Coloma Rehab site. The role focuses on evaluating patients, planning and delivering therapy to restore function, educating patients and families, and coordinating adaptive equipment as needed.

The OT will document care, train staff, and contribute to quality initiatives while meeting department productivity standards. Sign-on bonuses up to $15,000 are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy and Michigan licensure required.
• OTR certification upon hire with NBCOT verification.
• BLS certification from AHA and Red Cross required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides therapy to patients based on need and medical direction.
• Educates patients and caregivers and arranges adaptive equipment as needed.
• Performs evaluation procedures and develops a treatment plan.
• Delivers a treatment program to restore maximal function and assesses progress.
• Documents treatment in compliance with standards and reimbursement rules.
• Trains other rehab staff and students on patient needs and services.
• Participates in process improvement, patient satisfaction, and marketing activities.
• Maintains productivity per department standards and pursues ongoing education.

Job Summary

Provides therapy to patients based on patient need and medical direction. Provides patient/caregiver education and arranges for adaptive equipment as needed.

Essential Functions

• Performs evaluation procedures to assess the level of disability with regard to scope of practice, goals and a plan of treatment, and to make appropriate recommendations.
• Provides a treatment program and education to restore and return maximal function to the patient. Assesses effectiveness of treatment and modifies goals / treatment methods, as needed to meet changing needs.
• Documents evaluation and treatment of each patient in compliance with department standards, medical-legal and reimbursement procedures.
• Instructs and trains other rehabilitation staff, nursing, other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and rehabilitation services.
• Participates in ongoing process improvement, patient satisfaction initiatives/improvement, program development and marketing activities.
• Demonstrates productivity as indicated by department standard.
• Improves skill areas as demonstrated by applying continuing education in-services, participating in competencies in applicable areas, and developing new concepts of patient care and additional skills with various population groups.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited occupational therapy program
• Occupational Therapist - State of Michigan Upon Hire
• Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR) - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Upon Hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association 90 Days Or
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Red Cross 90 Days required
