Job summary

Driftwood Healthcare Center-Hayward is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to support treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist in accordance with federal guidelines and state practice acts.

The OTA will assist with resident activities, monitors progress, and help ensure treatment plans are followed. Training residents and families and coordinating with the therapy team are part of the role, with careful adherence to privacy and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree from a AOTA accredited program.
• Licensed OTA if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient treatment programs under supervision of an occupational therapist.
• Performs resident screens as allowed by state practice acts.
• Monitors residents during activities to ensure correct performance and provide encouragement.
• Records progress for use by the occupational therapist.
• Assists in scheduling appointments and handling related paperwork.
• Provides training to residents, caregivers and families per the care plan.
• Completes required forms and documents per company policy and regulations.
