Job summary

Monterey Palms Healthcare Center is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support patient treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. The OTA will conduct resident screens, assist with rehabilitative activities, monitor performance, and document progress for therapist review.

Training residents and families per care plan is required, along with completing necessary forms in compliance with laws and policies.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree from an AOTA accredited program
• Licensed OTA if required by state law

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient treatment programs under supervision of an occupational therapist
• Conduct resident screens as allowed by state practice act
• Help residents with rehabilitative activities and exercises
• Monitor activities for proper performance and provide encouragement
• Record resident progress for use by the occupational therapist
• Provide training to residents, caregivers and families per care plan
• Complete required forms and documents per policy and regulations
