Job summary

Merriam Gardens Healthcare & Rehab is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. The OTA will assist with treatment programs, screen residents, support rehabilitation activities, monitor patient progress, and help with scheduling and documentation.

The role involves training residents, caregivers and families according to care plans and ensuring compliance with privacy guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree from an AOTA accredited program.
• Licensed COTA if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Conduct resident screens as allowed by state practice act.
• Assist residents with rehabilitative activities and exercises per treatment plan.
• Monitor activities to ensure correct performance and provide encouragement.
• Record resident progress for the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist in scheduling, answering the phone, restocking supplies, and completing paperwork.
• Provide training to residents, caregivers and families per care plan.
• Complete required forms and documents per company policy and state/federal regulations.

Education
