Job summary

Porthaven-Post-Acute seeks a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to support the Occupational Therapist in resident care and treatment in a Portland, Oregon facility.

You will document accurately, maintain infection control, and participate in care conferences while educating residents and families on goals and home programs. Collaboration with nursing and therapy teams is essential for safe, effective care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient in Net Health and Point Click Care data entry.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment with infection control protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and Rehabilitation meetings.
• Assist nursing with training Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with supervising OT for updates to physicians and staff.
• Provide in-services to staff on training programs as needed.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals and home exercise programs.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering of necessary durable medical equipment to aid independence in ADLs.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and company information.
• Report equipment problems for maintenance.
• Contribute to quality assurance and program development.
• Relate positively with residents, families, staff, and colleagues.
