Description

Under the supervision of the Licensed Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapy Assistant treats patients with mobility, cognition, function, strength, positioning, and activities of daily living. The OTA conducts in-services and training for patient caregivers and facility staff on restorative and functional maintenance programs and clinical care. Reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible to the Therapy Program Manager. The OTA collaborates with families, physicians, and other health team members, maintaining professional documentation of services. CRI’s OTAs promote competent, courteous, and professional services to internal and external customers.

Requirements

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Treat patients according to the treatment plan developed by and under the supervision of the Licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Communicate with the Occupational Therapist, patients, families, and facility staff regarding patient progress and plans.
  • Participate in patient Plan of Care and Interdisciplinary Team Meetings.
  • Conduct in-service training for staff.
  • Record treatment and progress notes, contribute to discharge summaries, and complete billing.
  • Instruct families and nursing staff in maintenance programs under supervision.
  • Participate in discharge planning.
  • Achieve or exceed productivity standards.
  • Recommend equipment to improve clinical services.
  • Report equipment issues.
  • Serve as a clinical trainer for area university and college programs.
  • Comply with licensure and certification standards.
  • Uphold the mission, vision, and core values of Concept Rehab, exercising good judgment.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications
