Job summary

St Giles Nursing in El Paso, Texas is seeking a Per Diem Occupational Therapy Assistant to support residents on a PRN basis under supervision of an OT. You will help residents improve independence and quality of life with person-centered care.

The role requires an active Texas OTA license and COTA credential, strong communication and teamwork, and familiarity with Net Health EDS. Prior SNF experience and flexible scheduling are a plus, with a collaborative rehab team environment.

Qualifications

• Active and valid Texas Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required.
• In good standing with regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
• SNF or long-term care experience preferred.
• Current knowledge of occupational therapy treatment practices.
• Experience with Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred.
• Ability to manage patients with varying personalities and needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer occupational therapy treatments to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing
• Provide skilled occupational therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
• Respond to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to the Occupational Therapist
• Ensure all treatments are delivered in accordance with the established plan of care
• Provide clinical support and instruction to patients, families, and caregivers
• Monitor patient response to treatment interventions and report changes as appropriate
• Complete required documentation thoroughly and timely in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations
• Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab

In this role, you will provide person-centered care to help residents achieve positive outcomes and improve their independence and quality of life.

Your Impact as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
