Job summary

Recover-Care Healthcare is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist licensed therapists in delivering OT treatments and documenting patient progress. Depending on state law, you may help develop treatment plans and carry out routine tasks under supervision.

The role involves selecting therapy activities, observing progress, communicating with health-care professionals, and guiding home programs to improve independence and daily living skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of therapy activity selection and patient progress documentation.
• Strong communication with patients, families, and health-care professionals.
• Ability to travel as needed to perform job.

Responsibilities

• Selects therapy activities to fit patients’ needs and capabilities. Observes and records patients’ progress, attitudes, and behavior, and maintains this information in client records.
• Communicates and collaborates with other health care professionals involved with the care of a patient.
• Instructs or assists in home programs, basic living skills, and use of adaptive equipment; supports implementation of treatment plans.
• Assesses daily living skills and capacities; assists patients in dressing and grooming.
• Assembles, cleans, and maintains equipment for patient use.
• Demonstrates therapy techniques and teaches patients coping strategies.
• Attends care plan meetings to review patient progress and update plans.

Education

Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy

Current state licensure as Occupational Therapy Assistant
