Job summary

M2 HEALTHCARE LTD in New York is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support skilled OT services in a long-term care setting under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist. You will implement and adjust treatment plans and document patient progress.

Responsibilities include relaying service requests to the supervising OT, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining accurate treatment records. NY OTA license in good standing and LTC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have an active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in good standing in the state of NY.
• Long term care experience preferred
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled occupational therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referral to Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Implements and modifies the patient’s occupational therapy plan of treatment with OTR supervision
• Monitors patient responses to treatments and modifies it during treatment sessions as necessary.
• Observe residents and write progress reports.
• The Occupational Therapy Assistant will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information as required.
