Job summary

Synchrony in South Bend, IN, seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join an interdisciplinary team. You will assist with therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions under the direction of an Occupational Therapist.

The role emphasizes documenting patient progress, educating families on home programs, and collaborating with clinicians to ensure comprehensive care. A current OTA license and CPR certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Experience: 0-1 years.
• Licenses and Certifications: Must have and maintain a current OTA licensure or certification; CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions.
• Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to improve function and independence.
• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation of patients' responses to therapy and progress, reporting findings to the supervising OT.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and families on home exercises and strategies to support progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress with observations and insights.
• Other duties as assigned.
