Job summary

Springbrook NY, Inc. seeks a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students with OT services in diverse settings.

Under supervision, you will administer complex therapeutic activities, assist with assessments, and help develop individualized goals with the interdisciplinary team. You will perform treatments, document progress, and participate in trainings on adaptive equipment and interventions.

Qualifications

• Must have NY State COTA license.
• Graduate of an AOTA approved OTA program (Associate degree or higher).
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Proficient in basic computer software including Excel, Outlook and Word.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to individuals in various settings.
• Assist OT with screening, assessment and evaluation per educational needs.
• Collaborate on developing individual and group therapy goals with the interdisciplinary team.
• Plan and review activities for individuals and/or groups.
• Deliver therapy treatments as indicated in service plans.
• Demonstrate appropriate interactions to enhance performance.
• Offer in-service training and guidance on adaptive equipment and interventions.
• Utilize assistive devices to support individual needs.
• Maintain and update client records per regulations.
• Collect data for attendance and program evaluation.
• Communicate effectively with supervising therapist about participation in therapy.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and Springbrook policies.
• Attend departmental meetings as assigned.
• Inventory and maintain supplies and space; keep it clean and organized.
• Apply time management to meet department needs.
• Stay current with discipline-specific treatment practices.
• Provide proof of current licensure/certification.
• Complete ongoing professional development activities.
