Job summary

M2 Healthcare is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide skilled OT services in alignment with physician orders and under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist. You will respond to service requests, implement and adjust treatment plans, and monitor patient responses during sessions.

The role emphasizes documentation of treatments and progress, observation of residents, and clear communication with the OT team to ensure quality care in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in NY in good standing.
• Long term care experience preferred.
• Ability to manage patients with different personalities.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services under supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Respond to service requests by relaying information and referrals to the RT.
• Implement and modify the patient\'s OT plan of treatment under OTR supervision.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust treatments accordingly.
• Observe residents and write progress reports; document treatments and changes in condition.

COTA Duties Include:

• Provides skilled occupational therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referral to Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Implements and modifies the patient's occupational therapy plan of treatment with OTR supervision
• Monitors patient responses to treatments and modifies it during treatment sessions as necessary.
• Observe residents and write progress reports.
• The Occupational Therapy Assistant will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information as required.

COTA requirements include:

• Must have an active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in good standing in the state of NY.
• Long term care experience preferred
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
