Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Current state licensure as Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities to fit patients’ needs and record progress.
• Collaborate with other health care professionals involved in patient care.
• Instruct patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, and use of adaptive equipment; assist with plan implementation.
• Assess daily living skills and assist with dressing and grooming.
• Assemble, clean, and maintain equipment for patient use.
• Demonstrate therapy techniques such as manual or creative arts activities.
• Teach patients how to manage emotions constructively.
• Attend care plan meetings to review patient progress and update plans.
