Job summary

Overland Park Post Acute is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to support the supervising therapist in resident care and program delivery. You will assist with treatment, documentation, and infection control while collaborating with the care team to monitor progress and discharge planning.

You will educate residents and families on treatment goals and home exercise programs, and help train Restorative Aides while adhering to policy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state.
• CPR certification, if required by licensure.
• Strong communication with inter-disciplinary team and families.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment with infection control protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and Rehabilitation meetings.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals and home programs.
• Assist nursing with Restorative Aide training.
• Facilitate ordering of durable medical equipment as needed.
