Job summary

OVERLANDPARK Staff Occupational Therapist position involves evaluating and treating patients, communicating with families, physicians and other health team members, and maintaining documentation of services in medical records. In this role you will conduct in-services and training for facility staff on an ongoing basis.

You will supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, record evaluations and progress notes, participate in discharge planning, and ensure compliance with state practice

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy; Masters/Doctorate preferred.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state; maintain licensure per state requirements.
• Proficient in computer systems and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients within 24 hours or 1 business day of referral; document delays if needed.
• Develop treatment plans and obtain physician approval.
• Treat patients per physician plan and supervise assistants.
• Record evaluations, daily notes, weekly progress notes, and discharge documentation.
• Instruct families and nursing staff for discharge preparation and maintenance programs.
• Participate in discharge planning and related conferences and training.
