Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a weekend Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) to join our skilled nursing facility in Corning, New York.

The OTA/COTA will provide patient-centered therapy under supervision, support daily activities, and work with the OT to develop rehabilitation plans. We offer mentorship, flexible scheduling, weekly pay, and access to modern therapy equipment, with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current New York State OTA license.
• Weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities per plan of care.
• Assist residents in daily activities.
• Monitor residents' progress and document as needed.
• Teach residents how to use assistive devices.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish rehab plans.
• Maintain cooperative relationships within the healthcare team.

Duties of an exceptional therapist include:

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist

• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.

• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.

• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.

• collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.

• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort

COTA Requirements Include:
