Job summary

Valley Health System in Las Vegas is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support goal-oriented treatments under the supervision of an OT. The role focuses on promoting independence in activities of daily living and upper-extremity function for patients in a hospital setting.

The successful candidate will hold an Associate’s Degree in OT, Nevada OTA licensure in process, NBCOT certification, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program satisfying AOTA requirements.
• Nevada State OTA License in process of licensure with NBCOT certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to provide care to the age groups served on the unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Carry out goal-oriented treatments established by the Occupational Therapist to facilitate independence in activities of daily living (ADL).
• Support upper-extremity (UE) functioning through therapeutic activities as directed.
• Collaborate with the OT team to implement treatment plans and monitor patient progress.

Qualifications

Education: Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a college program satisfying the American Occupational Therapy Association academic and internship requirements for competence in OT.

License/Certification: Nevada State License as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (must be in the process of licensure and practicing under a student license). Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Current BLS certification.

Other: Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
