Job summary

Valley Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support OT goals, promote independence in ADLs, and improve upper-extremity functioning for patients in Las Vegas. The role operates within a teaching hospital setting, contributing to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.

Required credentials include Nevada state OT licensure (or in process), NBCOT certification, and current BLS.

Qualifications

  • Education required: Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy and licensure/certification as above.
  • Nevada State Licensure in OT as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (or in process). NBCOT certification and BLS are required.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to care for the patient population served.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for carrying out goal-oriented treatments established by the Occupational Therapist to facilitate a maximum level of independence in activities of daily living (ADL) and upper-extremity (UE) functioning.

Responsibilities

Valley Hospital Medical Center is located in the Las Vegas Medical District with 306 acute care beds, including a 48-bed behavioral health unit. Job Description

Qualifications

Education: Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a college program satisfying the American Occupational Therapy Association academic and internship requirements for competence in OT.

License/Certification: Nevada State License as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (must be in the process of licensure and practicing under a student license). Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Current BLS certification.

Other: Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
