We are currently seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in a home health setting in the Greater Las Vegas area. Our focus is on delivering exceptional care to pediatric patients with various disorders and conditions.

COTA Responsibilities:

  • Treat pediatric patients using therapeutic and self-care activities to improve function, under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist (OTR).
  • Monitor patients' activities, ensure correct performance, and provide encouragement.
  • Participate in meetings and case conferences for coordinated care planning.
  • Document weekly progress in appropriate records.
  • Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in skills and techniques of the treatment program, under supervision of the OT.
  • Demonstrate exercises to improve daily task performance and pain relief.
  • Complete clinical notes promptly using the company's EMR system.
  • Verify client information through interviews, review medical history, and confirm treatment purposes.
  • Follow treatment plans developed with the occupational therapist, teaching techniques such as safe movement and stretching exercises.
  • Monitor activities, encourage correct performance, and alert the therapist if the treatment isn't effective.
  • Maintain pediatric occupational therapy records, documenting patient progress.
  • Record billing information for services rendered to generate revenue.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
  • Uphold professional standards, policies, and legal requirements to protect the occupational therapy practice.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current NV Occupational Therapy Assistant license
  • Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • At least one year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Current CPR certification
  • Willingness to participate in continued education
  • Valid state driver’s license and auto insurance

Preferred but not required: Pediatric experience.
