Job summary

Santa Cruz Post Acute seeks a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our skilled nursing team in Santa Cruz. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services that enhance residents' independence and quality of life.

We offer full‑time, part‑time, and PRN schedules with pay starting at $44–$50 per hour DOE plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in California.
• Graduate of an accredited COTA program.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
• Prior SNF experience preferred but new grads are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment interventions as outlined in the resident's individualized OT plan of care.
• Assist in implementing therapeutic programs to improve ADLs, mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive function.
• Document daily treatment notes, progress updates, and resident responses according to facility and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the occupational therapist, therapy staff, nursing team, and other interdisciplinary members to support resident goals.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and functional strategies.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and professional standards.
