Job summary

Total Care Therapy is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our growing Ohio team. You will work with a licensed OT to deliver patient-centered care, helping residents improve mobility, independence, and quality of life in assisted living and independent living communities.

Roadmap includes flexible scheduling (Mon-Fri, full-time). You’ll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, maintain documentation in EMR, and support residents and families with education on

Qualifications

• Active OTA license in the state
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist and according to the established plan of care.
• Implement therapeutic activities and interventions that promote independence with ADLs, IADLs, upper extremity function, coordination, strength, balance, and cognitive skills.
• Assist residents in improving functional performance, safety, and independence through individualized treatment approaches.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Accurately complete documentation and treatment notes using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment, energy conservation techniques, home safety, fall prevention, and strategies to maximize independence.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain a full clinical caseload while providing compassionate, high-quality occupational therapy services.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work alongside a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that helps residents improve mobility, increase strength, restore function, and maintain their independence.

• Assist residents in improving functional performance, safety, and independence through individualized treatment approaches.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Accurately complete documentation and treatment notes using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment, energy conservation techniques, home safety, fall prevention, and strategies to maximize independence.
