Sapphire Nursing at Wappingers is seeking a committed Occupational Therapist to develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills for elderly residents. The role supports a hands-on approach, tailoring therapies to patient needs in a skilled nursing setting in Dutchess County, NY.

Qualifications

• Licensed OT in New York with current credentials.
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or higher in OT.
• At least 2 years of occupational therapy experience.
• Excellent communication and professional behavior.
• Knowledge of ADL/IADL assessment tools and therapies.

Responsibilities

• Support engagement in daily activities and occupations relevant to health and well-being.
• Adapt OT treatment models per case to guide interventions.
• Improve safety and performance in ADL/IADL tasks.
• Educate clients on task approaches and breaking down activities.
• Assess home and environments and advise modifications.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train use.
• Guide families and caregivers in care planning.
• Record progress, collect data, and follow up with clients.
