Qualifications

• Degree from an Occupational Therapy Program is required.
• National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the facility policy time frame is required.

Responsibilities

• Interact professionally with patients and families with respect and dignity.
• Address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and spiritual needs of patients and families.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers to ensure positive outcomes.
• Assess patients appropriately and reevaluate per policy.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to assistants and support staff as permitted by license and policy.
• Administer treatment using modalities and equipment suitable for age and condition of the patient.
• Plan and carry out individually designed therapy programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical function.
