Job summary

Gersh Autism in West Hempstead is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide OT support to K-12 students. The role collaborates with multiple disciplines, review outcomes, and adjust intervention plans to meet IEP goals.

The ideal candidate will have NBCOT certification, State OTR/L licensure, and at least one year of pediatric/school-based OT experience. A sign-on bonus of $3,500 is offered.

Qualifications

• Must have NBCOT certification and completed all fieldwork requirements.
• Must possess State OTR/L Licensure in the state of hire.
• One year of experience as an occupational therapist, preferably in school/pediatric setting.
• Must have sensory knowledge.
• Experience with children with disabilities is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other disciplines to plan and deliver OT services.
• Evaluates student performance and formulates the student’s occupational profile.
• Develops OT intervention plans aligned to IEP goals and conducts sessions.
• Participates in multidisciplinary meetings and documents results.
• Maintains confidentiality and accurate documentation.
