Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required.
• Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
• Licensed within the State of Montana

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, helping them reach maximum performance and function in daily life.
• Administer comprehensive evaluations and document findings per departmental standards; provide consultations on environmental design, adaptive equipment, positioning, splinting, and liaise with local schools, nursing homes, home care agencies, and hospital settings.
• Maintain timely and accurate patient records and reports.
• Design and administer treatment programs to increase patients' functioning; use therapeutic exercises to improve strength, range of motion, and fine-motor coordination; train in adaptive techniques and equipment for daily living activities.
• Train patients in the use of upper-extremity devices to resume daily routines; participate in home assessments.
• Provide sensory, motor, cognitive, and perceptual therapies; design individualized therapy for adults with learning disabilities; fabricate splints, slings, and adaptive equipment as prescribed.
• Administer brain-injury therapies and projects to improve judgment, orientation, and organization; provide prevention therapy to maintain functional skills; educate families on transfers and safety to prevent injuries.
• Assess organizational skills, attention, cognitive abilities, coordination, and assistive device needs; design home programs and educate patients or families on implementing them.
• Participate in patient support groups and develop plans of care; provide evaluations and care planning
