Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients across all ages. You will design and implement comprehensive plans of care, monitor outcomes, and adjust interventions based on patient response.

Collaboration with the care team and supervision of COTA and rehab staff are key components of the role. Responsibilities include examinations, using standardized outcomes, patient and family education, and ensuring compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (OT).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair and floor.
• Maintains safe body mechanics to protect patients and staff.
• Designs and documents a plan of care with goals, treatment, outcomes and discharge plan.
• Adjusts care based on patient response and evidence.
• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students and other providers.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine PT diagnoses and outcomes.
• Performs examinations using reliable, valid methods relevant to the chief complaint and history.
• Screens patients to determine need for therapy services.
• Supervises COTA and rehabilitation technicians per law.
• Documents evaluations and plans of care per policy; tracks goals and responses.
• Completes annual education for regulatory requirements as applicable.
• Communicates discharge dispositions and equipment needs to the care team.
