Qualifications

• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure in the state of practice.
• NBCOT-accredited occupational therapy degree.
• Ability to practice occupational therapy per state guidelines.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates clients, develops treatment goals and implements the OT plan, with documentation of services.
• Designs and fits adaptive devices and trains clients in their use.
• Selects activities suited to individual capacity and interests.
• Consults with the rehabilitation team to select appropriate activity programs.
• Instructs clients in skills required for participation and evaluates progress.
• Adapts programs to individual client needs.
• Attends client care and staff conferences and related meetings.
• Conducts training for medical, nursing and other personnel in OT techniques.
• Requisitions supplies and equipment as necessary.
• Cleans, maintains and reports equipment repair needs.
• Supervises supportive personnel per state and professional standards.
• Puts customer service first to ensure high-quality care.
