Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat oncology patients in an inpatient setting. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to plan discharge and ensure quality care while documenting in the EMR and managing billing in line with Medicare guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Complete evaluations and treatments of assigned patients in accordance with standards of care.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment, reassess and discharge when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team on patient status and discharge planning.
  • Perform screenings and document evaluations and treatments in electronic medical record.
  • Complete charge sheets billing within Medicare guidelines with minimal errors.
  • Assist with supervision and onboarding.

Provides care for inpatient oncology caseload. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team regarding the needs of the patient. Position includes opportunities to contribute to presentations, publications, supervision of students/interns, and execution of departmental education efforts, etc. which will contribute to advancement in a clinical ladder.Job Duties:Complete evaluations and treatments of assigned patients in accordance to established standards of care and practice including selecting assessment tools, tests and measures, goal setting, etc.Monitors and responds to the patient's response to treatment and adjusts accordingly, reassessing the patient as needed or at least every 2 weeks, and discharging the patient in a timely manner dependent on the needs of the patient.Collaborates and communicates with the interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status and discharge planning.Perform screenings for appropriate patients.Accurately performs documentation on each evaluation and treatment session within the electronic medical record and accurately documents billing charges.Documents evaluations and daily treatment sessions accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record immediately upon completion of session.Accurately completes charge sheets billing within Medicare guidelines and performs live documentation for all patients with no more than 2 billing errors per month.Assist with supervision and onboardingOther duties as assignedRequirements:OT - Occupational Therapist *Temporary Florida license expected.
