Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate, treat, and discharge patients in the inpatient oncology service. You will work Monday through Friday, 7am–3:30pm, and provide care under the Occupational Therapy practice act with a temporary Florida license expected and the license exam within 90 days.

  • OT - Occupational Therapist; Temporary Florida license expected; must pass licensing exam within 90 days of hire to continue employment.
  • Bachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy; One year of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient evaluation and treatment according to physical therapy practice act.
  • Complete evaluations and treatments of assigned patients in accordance to established standards of care and practice including selecting assessment tools, tests and measures, goal setting.
  • Monitors and responds to the patient's response to treatment and adjusts accordingly, reassessing the patient as needed or at least every 2 weeks, and discharging the patient in a timely manner dependent on the needs of the patient.
  • Collaborates and communicates with the interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status and discharge planning.
  • Perform screenings for appropriate patients.
  • Accurately document patient evaluation and treatment information in the electronic health record.
  • Assist with supervision and onboarding.
  • Accurately performs documentation on each evaluation and treatment session within the electronic medical record and accurately documents billing charges.
  • Documents evaluations and daily treatment sessions accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record immediately upon completion of session.
  • Accurately completes charge sheets billing within Medicare guidelines and performs live documentation for all patients with no more than 2 billing errors per month.

Summary

Evaluates, plans, and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principle and practices of occupational therapy. Provides care for inpatient oncology caseload. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team regarding the needs of the patient. Position includes opportunities to contribute to presentations, publications, supervision of students/interns, and execution of departmental education efforts, etc. which will contribute to advancement in a clinical ladder.

Required Credentials
  • OT - Occupational Therapist *Temporary Florida license expected. Must pass licensing exam within 90 days of hire to continue employment.
  • Bachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy One year of clinical experience preferred. Clinical experience in an acute care hospital during OT school will be accepted.

Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm

Salary Range

Salary Range $80,974.40 - $123,364.80 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
