Job summary

Methodist Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate PRN Occupational Therapist for our inpatient rehabilitation unit in Jackson, MS. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to help patients regain skills and independence throughout their rehabilitation journey.

New graduates are welcome to apply. You will evaluate and treat a diverse patient population, document progress, and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• OT degree from an accredited program.
• Mississippi OT license or eligibility.
• American Red Cross BLS certification.

• Clinical experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or outpatient therapy is preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled Occupational Therapy services to inpatients in a rehabilitation setting.
• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Document and implement treatment plans to promote optimal outcomes.
• Treat patients with a wide range of diagnoses and functional needs.
• Monitor progress and modify plans as needed.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and team planning.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other team members.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of evaluations and progress.
• Demonstrate organizational and time-management skills in a dynamic environment.
• Encourage and motivate patients toward greater independence and recovery.

Methodist Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient rehabilitation team.

As an Occupational Therapist at MRC, you'll work with patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, helping them regain skills, improve functional independence, and return to the activities that matter most to them. You'll collaborate closely with an experienced interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans and support each patient's recovery goals.

What You’ll Do

• Provide skilled Occupational Therapy services to patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on their diagnosis, functional abilities, goals, and rehabilitation needs.
• Develop, document, and implement appropriate treatment plans designed to promote optimal patient outcomes and greater independence.
• Provide therapy to patients with a wide range of diagnoses, injuries, ages, and functional needs.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Participate in regularly scheduled interdisciplinary patient care-team conferences to contribute to the plan of care, therapy goals, patient progress, and discharge recommendations.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, interventions, and patient progress.
• Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills while working in a dynamic rehabilitation environment.
• Encourage, motivate, and inspire patients as they work toward greater independence and recovery.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the rehabilitation process.

Qualifications: What We’re Looking For

• Appropriate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current, valid Mississippi Occupational Therapy license, or eligibility for licensure.
• American Red Cross BLS certification.

• Clinical experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or outpatient therapy is preferred.
