Job summary

Juniper Gardens Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Gastonia, NC is seeking an Occupational Therapist-PRN to join a patient-centered team. The role focuses on evaluating patients, creating treatment plans, and delivering one-on-one therapy.

You will supervise assistants, document per guidelines, educate families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to travel locally and participate in improvement initiatives is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current North Carolina OT license or eligibility.
• Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Positive, patient-first attitude with teamwork.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist patients safely.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop personalized treatment plans based on physician referrals.
• Provide one-on-one therapy sessions aligned with functional outcomes.
• Supervise therapy assistants, rehab techs, and students.
• Document services and progress notes per guidelines.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on restorative techniques and home programs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for care planning and discharge transitions.
• Maintain productivity and understand Medicare and insurance reimbursement.
• Participate in performance improvement, in-services, and continuing education.
• Ensure a clean, safe therapy environment and assist with equipment.
• Flexibility to float between nearby facilities; travel reimbursement provided.
