Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland is seeking an Occupational Therapist PRN to deliver evidence-based therapy, tailor care plans, and support patient recovery in an acute care setting. You’ll work with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to evaluate needs and implement individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date
• Texas OT license required
• Bachelor’s degree in OT; Masters preferred
• 1–2 years acute care experience required
• Ability to work 2 shifts per month; may include weekdays, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and needs; develop individualized therapy plans
• Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions to promote healing and independence
• Monitor patient progress; adjust plans as needed and document outcomes
• Educate patients and families to build understanding and engagement
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe transitions of care
• Provide guidance to therapy assistants or students and uphold HCA values

Job Summary And Qualifications

Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Your role will include:

• Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Occupational Therapist licensed in the state of Texas, is required
• A minimum of a Bachelors Degree from an accredited OT program is required, Masters preferred
• A minimum of 1-2 years experience in an acute care facility is required
• Must be able to work 2 shifts a month may include weekdays, weekends and occasional holidays
